Keyboard Skills for the College Bound Vocalist and Musical Theatre Major
Voice majors need piano skills, too! Most university music programs require all music majors to pass a piano proficiency exam before graduating. Plus, knowing your way around the keyboard will help you learn your vocal music much more quickly and assist you in other classes such as theory and aural skills. Get a head start. In addition to basic reading skills, you'll be introduced to scales, arpeggios, chords, improvisation, and harmonization. Check with your preferred university about their piano proficiency requirements as early as possible.
