WunderKeys Piano for Preschoolers
La Grange, Kentucky
Dawn Cason Music is proud to offer WunderKeys Piano for Preschoolers. WunderKeys is a unique program designed to introduce the preschool child to the the piano through one-on-one lessons. Designed by Andrea and Trevor Dow, WunderKeys is an imaginative and stimulating program. Students join Thumbelina, Pointer Panda, Middleton Mouse, Ringo Raccoon, and Pinky Pig on a weekly adventure that teaches basic musical concepts while also teaching math skills, all of which are within the grasp of the preschool age child. It's 30 minutes of non-stop fun. We play games, sing, move, and play the piano. It's an exciting way to introduce your child to the world of music, and your first four lessons are FREE.
Tell Me MORE
The WunderKeys Preschool Piano Program consists of three method books. Each book contains ten lessons filled with vivid, full-color illustrations and simple, bite-sized pieces of musical concepts that are easily managed by the 3-5 year old child; lessons are always customized and paced according to your child's needs.
What can I expect in lessons?
Your child must be accompanied to lessons by a parent or guardian. Lesson activities include spoken rhymes, exploration of piano keys and sound, pattern recognition, singing, finger exercises to build coordination, and games that build various musical and mathematical skills. Activities are changed frequently throughout the lesson to keep your child's attention.
What are some of the musical concepts taught?
Finger coordination
Symbol-to-sound recognition
High sounds/low sounds
Moving higher and lower on the keyboard
Visual and aural recognition of quarter, half, and whole notes
Playing simple, pattern-based melodies
Will my child have to practice at home?
Yes, students are expected to practice lesson material each week and will need a piano or keyboard at home. Practice sessions should be kept short and occur regularly. WunderKeys is designed in such a way that you can help your child whether or not you have a musical background, and your child's teacher is happy to offer guidance.
